Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), our warm and professional team will be there to greet you. You’ll be transferred to your lodge in Arusha, where you can relax after your journey. Later, you’ll meet your safari guide for a personalized briefing over dinner. This is where your adventure with Tanzania Tourism Safaris begins.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart with picnic lunches en route to Tarangire National Park. Known for its iconic baobab trees and sweeping savannahs, Tarangire is a hidden gem boasting one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations. Game drives reveal giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, lions, and an incredible array of birds. Enjoy your first full day in the wild before reaching your tented camp overlooking Lake Burunge.

Day 3: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park
Today, travel to nearby Lake Manyara National Park. As you enter, thick groundwater forests welcome you, where troops of baboons roam freely. The park transitions into grassy plains and a shallow soda lake, known for its flamingos and tree-climbing lions. After game viewing, ascend the Great Rift Valley escarpment and settle into your lodge overlooking the highlands of Karatu.

Day 4: Karatu – Lake Natron
Following breakfast, head north toward the raw, lesser-traveled terrain of Lake Natron. This region is dominated by volcanic landscapes and Maasai culture. En route, take in the stunning views of Mount Oldonyo Lengai—the sacred “Mountain of God.” Arrive at your camp near the lake in the late afternoon and soak in the stillness of this remote corner of Tanzania.

Day 5: Lake Natron Exploration
Rise for a guided hike through the dramatic rift valley landscapes, visiting cascading waterfalls nestled in deep gorges. Later, walk to the shores of Lake Natron, a surreal landscape where flamingos gather in massive numbers to breed. Optional: For the adventurous, a midnight climb of Oldonyo Lengai can be arranged (advance request required).

Day 6: Lake Natron – Northern Serengeti
Today’s journey leads you from the volcanic valleys to the world-renowned Serengeti. Traverse the “17 corners” road and enjoy panoramic views of the Ngorongoro highlands and Lake Natron below. You’ll enter the Northern Serengeti via Klein’s Gate, just in time for an evening game drive as the sun sets over the savannah.

Day 7: Northern Serengeti (Mara River Region)
Spend the full day exploring the Mara River region, famed for the Great Migration river crossings. Depending on the season, you may witness dramatic scenes of wildebeest and zebras braving crocodile-infested waters. Even when migration is elsewhere, this area teems with elephants, big cats, and stunning views.

Day 8: Northern Serengeti – Central Serengeti
Depart after breakfast for the heart of the Serengeti. This region, known as Seronera, offers quintessential African landscapes—open plains, kopjes, and acacia-dotted hills. It’s home to dense predator populations, especially lions and leopards. Game drives here are rich with photographic opportunities, and your camp offers a peaceful retreat under the stars.

Accommodation: Sound of Silence – Central Serengeti
Day 9: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu
Depart Serengeti at sunrise and journey to the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into this ancient caldera for a half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a wildlife haven, home to the Big Five, including rare black rhinos. Enjoy a final bush picnic before exiting the crater and driving to your lodge in Karatu.

Day 10: Karatu – Arusha – Departure via Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar Extension
After breakfast, return to Arusha for a farewell lunch. Depending on your schedule, we will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home or to the domestic airport for your flight to Zanzibar to extend your adventure on the Indian Ocean coast.
